Johnny Park Trail 6-29-2024
June 29th we took some friends and friends of friends up Johnny Park trail right on the Larimer/Boulder county line south of Estes Park, Colorado.
Had one brand new wheeler with us and one almost new wheeler so it was a good trail to show them what their vehicles were capable of!
Aside from the rental side by sides that have absolutely zero trail ettiqutte knowledge it was a fanatastic day!!

Storm Mountain 153 trail work day! Tree cutting, hand tools, mountain cardio!
Переглядів 93821 день тому
Saturday June 8th Big Thompson Wheelers went up our adopted trail 153 (closed since 2020 due to the Cameron Peak Fire) on our USFS trail agreement and swept the trail for trees down, and did our best to fill in the big washout mid-way down 153 which is the actual reason why this trail is still closed. After an hour of back breaking hand tool work, we were able to fill it in enough to get an ope...
Late April SNOW WHEELING!
Переглядів 9202 місяці тому
April 27th I finally got to go snow wheeling! Almost thought I would get skunked this year due to life being too busy, but everything cancelled today because of "weather" and this club run was still on! Great day in the hills playing in the fresh powder!
2024 Total Solar Eclipse
Переглядів 4372 місяці тому
Something a little different for the channel since the offroad trails are just now starting to be accessible for the season, I drove 1208 miles down to Texas to witness my first ever solar eclipse! This is some 5x and 10x shots off my SLR of a timelapse of the action! And the clouds cleared just in time for totality and it was the most amazing thing I've ever seen. Hope you enjoy! Back to offro...

New Bronco suspension and shakedown run!!!
Переглядів 1,2 тис.6 місяців тому
November 27th I dropped the bronco off at The Edge Automotive in Englewood, Colorado for a full suspension makeover. November 29th it was back in my garage! December 2nd was my shakedown run and an important trip to get things to loosen up a bit, and loosen up they did. That squeak you hear I'm 99% confident is a cold grease issue where metal was unprotected, or maybe salty water got in there a...

Thanks for spotting me Justin!
Have a great Sunday!
Just did Johnny Park last weekend.....
it's turned into a trail with some pretty fun obstacles!
@JustinKingOffroad I started off running that trail in a 2006 Chevy Trailblazer....lol. now I have an 03 Jeep Grand Cherokee...
nice! i've done it quite a few times, and it's really changed over the years.
First!
Your full of crap
WHEN YOU GET YOUR JEEP WANTABEE, YOU'LL MISS IT.
Actually no. The bronco had been a superior vehicle over the Jeep in handling so far, zero reason to go back.
That looks fun to bike down
While this trail is closed to motorized travel, bikes and hiking are allowed!!
Thanks for the coordinates in all your videos. It's super helpful.
Pretty cool work bee! Nice to see!
Awesome work! Thanks, and please thank your club. 👍🏻
Can you get Greer and Ballard open next? The forest service doesn't respond to calls.
ballard is closed still due to fire damage and is washed out in a couple spots. also not adopted by our club, but, we have a meeting with the FS this week and can ask what is going on with it.
@@JustinKingOffroad Fantastic work. Thank you
Do you think Storm Mountain will fully reopen soon?
the upper half (that has been open seasonally) will be opening this Saturday the 15th. Actually most likely end of day on 14th cause it takes a while to drive around and swing gates open. we have a meeting with the FS this week to see about having them rescind the closure for the lower half. no promises.
@@JustinKingOffroad THANK YOU! 🙂
I always feel left out when I miss trail openings with a club … thanks for putting in the efforts to get some public access back! 👍🏽
Nice to have you back and thank you and your club.
Them Ole 4 wheelers said it's open. 😂
As a landscaper picks and pickaxes are a thing of the past you can throw out your elbow your shoulder twisted wrist. The new thing we're using when we're digging by hand is called a sharpshooter shovel. If you guys would have had a set of those and formed a assembly line on that one side of the bank and carved a fault line the whole side with a collapsed right into that rut. Bing 56 and still out there working hard I like to find easy ways to make a hard job go smoother with less body damage or aches and pains you might want to check out that shovel again the sharpshooter shovel.
Strong work folks. Well done 970 😎🤘🏼☀️☀️
Thank you thank you thank you for working to reopen the trail! Which off road club were you with?
This is Big Thompson Wheelers!
@@JustinKingOffroad Cool. Thanks!
Thanks for the video! Glad you are back! I do miss the Power Wagon.
It was a fun truck but honestly the 250 is suiting me better.
I suggest and address The Jeep company that " FAC" should consider that matter seriously 1) The internal sitting head of Above the head must be increased its pain in the butts and top head when it's jump head hits on above ceiling specially for tall weighted people on off road 2) Oil pressure pump supply to Hydraulic lifter should be increased and maintained properly ok Chrysler Jeep " FAC"
Nice ! Looks like a heck of a climb. I bet vehicles without "real" low range might not do well.
Is that snow?
no just big ol rain drops.
That looks awesome
We have a meeting Wednesday for the club and our forest service representative is usually at it so we are going to chat and see if we can get them to let us Open this gate
@@JustinKingOffroad I gotta go out west at some point and check out the trails.
Ill they open it outside of hunting season those damn liberal biologists, we used to go up every chance we got all summer then they only opened it during hunting season
Have a great day
it was awesome!!!!!!
Good luck with the Bronco.
Desert does it “seat slammers” make the driver seat 100x more comfortable & give better view
Good job on the X-Lock!! Some people need to just read the book that was in the box with the winch. YES read the book! I see you have a Kenwood D700 or D710 are you running APRS and are you using the I-pad for the APRS. if so I need some help to do that. N6LSP
I do have a 710 for aprs. I use the iPad for maps. But now that I have a bronco I use android auto for the maps, iPad went back to being drone control only.
@@JustinKingOffroad I have a D710 A and need a little help. . it dose not have the inside GPS so I had a interface ( usb to 9pin ) that went to a small GPS. The interface let the blue smoke out DOA. What did you use to GPS data to your D710 and your I-pad and did the I-pad show you and other APRS and text on the map. How did you do it and where can I get the parts. I have a 22 RUB 4XE with little to no room with UHF/VHF/HF. 73s N6LSP
You've had it since 2021?? Damn, that "time flies when you get older" thing is no joke. Congrats on the milestone.
The job is a whole lot easier if you pull your coolant reservoir out of there.
I got 10k on my jeep last year, now it's 29k lol
I don't daily this one, but I did pretty good on miles working from home lol
Tell me when you get over 200,000 miles. Till then, not interested.
It’s cheaper in the long run with a delete
Delete, delete!
Shhhh haha
Get the emissions repaired No more regen
I don't know why. but every time I watch a Power Wagon video I hear the theme song to "Team America - World Police" in the back of my head. F^&% Yeah!
Thank you for sharing- very helpful. cheers, lefty
Baby mooose .. watch your ass??
Momma was around the corner!
The power wagons were never designed to be a polling vehicle. The suspension is not heavy enough and is made for our articulation as well as the gear ratios.
Example just look at the trees in the video. People need to open their eyes. Stop joking around all the time. It's serious matter. Then again I said it's too late. Oopsie
What are you talking about? The trees in this clip look pretty good for early spring at high altitude. Those aspens are not fully leafed out yet.
Animal just goes to show the state of the world we live in. World is drying up and dying sadly. And we're way past the point of repair and healing. Thank you companies. Can't take that money to hell.
Clearly the Defender has very good off-road performance but these tires don't help it at all. I would like to see it in action with some real 4x4 tires
" Swamp Donkey"
Mama problem ended up in a Chinese restaurant.
Get out and look for mommy😂😂😂😂😂😂
Oh we found her around the corner lol
@@JustinKingOffroadapparently Dennis wants you dead 😂😂
Johnny Park open? We did Bunce but my WJ decided that it didn't want it's electric fan anymore so it left the vehicle along with the radiator and shroud
Yikes!!! No it will be opening June 15 though. Still gotta drive Pierson too. Hopefully this coming weekend.
I've heard from a couple of fellow PW pilots that using ethanol free gasoline will give you a couple of mpg extra. Has anyone actually tested this theory? If not I guess I'll have to.
When I had my power wagon I would see a two to three mile per gallon increase on ethanol-free gas!
Hasn't Storm Mountain been closed for years?
Only the lower half. We are doing trail work up there in June that should hopefully prompt the FS to open it.
@@JustinKingOffroad AWESOME!!! Thanks for the update, and the work!
What exhausts are they running on some of those trucks! Badass
Solo performance muffler delete!
Lol you dont know much about diesels do ya? Only highway driving does auto regens anything less than highway driving does not clean the the DPF.
oh this truck will active regen in town. you have to be pulling really heavy to get a passive regen. i did 75 MPH with a cargo trailer into a head wind in January, and took the soot load to 0% on my banks idash, but active regen was off. so it was totally passive.
Wrong
Aahahaha. Love my 90’s vehicles.
